  • I hated Nixon as much as anyone did. He betrayed our trust and violated his oath of office by engaging in felonious acts, acts that eventually brought him down. Having said that though, I confess that I was surprised to read that he had a romantic, softer side.

  • What I liked best about Andy Rooney was that he never told us what we had to think or believe. His commentaries were clear expressions of what he thought and believed. Apparently, most of us concurred with his position most of the time.

  • So the new regulations requiring banks to treat us fairly has resulted in a loss of profits? Tough. Their own actions approving millions of high risk mortgages got us into this recession in the first place.
